[00:01] Welcome to the Prosperity Podcast. Prosperity thinkers, welcome to the podcast. Today, we’re going to be talking about the thing that everyone’s talking about, our freedoms, America. And what better way to do it than talk about the Tuttle Twins. You may know who they are, but Kim, you’re going to give us a little sneak peek on something new that’s coming up. Absolutely. Well, I have enjoyed Connor Boyack’s work. He is the author of the Tuttle Twins as an owner of a company that has a team that does stuff. I so appreciate the work that he puts into these things. And I know he has a lot of help. And in particular, I happen to know that he spent with his writer a series of weekends. I think it might’ve been two or three weeks up in a cabin in Utah,

[00:52] doing a deep dive into all of the high school and junior high, what are typically called social studies books. We used to know them as history books. And of course was so saddened with all of the largely incorrect information that’s in a lot of that material. And so they wrote their own American history book. So this is a Tuttle Twins American history book. I believe it’s designed for the upper junior high, lower high school realm, but it might be high school. I can’t remember. It frankly doesn’t matter. I cannot wait to get my hands on it. And I was aware that he did this deep dive a few months ago. And I actually been emailing their organization the last couple of months, cause I couldn’t find the book.

[01:39] And well, now I know why it wasn’t out yet. I was getting too antsy for it. So there is going to be a link in the show notes for their pre-launch, which I am so excited about now, Spencer, I know you guys and your family have done lots of work and you have much younger kids. So my kids of course have read all of his material, but I think your story with their books is more meaningful because these books truly are designed for kids and frankly, I mean, even Robert Kiyosaki, his mode of writing is for an eighth grader. That’s the level of writing that the really good stuff that gets read by lots of people is at. So talk to us about your experience with Tuttle Twins books and your family’s take on them.

[02:28] Yeah, absolutely. So the Tuttle Twins for any of our listeners that don’t know who they are, it’s a children’s book series. And the nice thing about it, as you mentioned, it’s written at the level that young children can understand, and they’re going to get principles and understand about what capitalism is, or they’re going to understand about a republic versus a democracy, or they’re going to learn about a myriad of things. Concepts. It really is. But the older kids can also hang on and still enjoy it. And I think that shows the sign of a really good writer, someone that takes the time and can disseminate information that any age group can hang on to means that one, that’s a lot of work. It’s a whole lot of work to be able to take those concepts.

[03:19] And I applaud you, you know, taking like the principles of prosperity. You’ve taken years of thinking upon thinking and just distilled it down. So for us, we use the Tuttle Twins and our homeschool programs. And it’s absolutely amazing. Both the physical books, but there’s coloring books. There’s also digital pieces. And my daughter, she even created her own Tuttle Twins versions of books. It’s kind of cool. So she, yeah, she drew them. I even sent it off to Connor and then he replied back and he just thought it was amazing, so it was really cool. Yeah. And they have a whole series for teenagers specifically, and they’re written a little bit like novels and you can choose your ending. And they’re fascinating.

[04:09] I’ve read through it, like choosing ending A, so like the book’s got maybe six different directions it could go. So about every three or four chapters, there’s an A and a B ending. And then based on what you choose, you go to different pages in the book. You end up in totally different places because of decisions that have been made by your choice of endings. So his teenager books are fabulous. They’re colorful. They’re beautifully done. And I’m so excited that they have this out. And I think for a lot of our listeners, they’re wanting to be good thinkers, original thinkers, you know, the current terminology is first principles thinkers, right, like Elon Musk is. And so I know that this new American history book from Tuttle Twins author,

[05:01] again, designed for that lower high school grade kid. So how can I guarantee that? Okay. Take the word back. But I am very confident that if I was able to go back and look at my junior high and high school history slash social studies teachings that, well, Emma wants to contribute her opinion too, that there would do this, the internet cut out for a bit. And then Emma, so let’s just roll back like 30 seconds, a minute. And then we’ll, then we’ll go from there. Great. So it’s so interesting when I think about my own junior high and high school education, now I don’t remember what I was taught, but I am pretty confident that a lot of the quote history slash social studies classes that I had were not ideal and maybe not through their full, maybe

[05:53] not through their full proof. So I am super excited to get my own hands on this book. And I’m so grateful to have been on his early release list so that we can share and really pass on the benefit of he’s got this whole package. It’s normally two or $300, which is the book and a workbook and some outtakes and videos, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, for like $75. And I’m so, so grateful that we’re getting to pass that on to all of our community. Yeah, absolutely. You know, I think this message that we’re sharing today is one that is particularly important right now. So one, we’re creeping up in the time of July summer, when people are thinking about our freedoms, but we’re also in this transitionary

[06:40] change and what I mean by that is in the summertime, we see a lot of people moving and surprisingly, I mean, you’re in Texas, I’m currently in, I’m in Tennessee, we’re seeing a lot of people move out of states that are taking away freedoms. Right. And they’re moving to states that have more freedom. Now what happens and what can get lost in the transition is the kid’s ability to understand why. And they may understand, Hey, it’s better for mom or dad’s business. Oh, it’s better for whatever that could be, but by reading these books and really understanding the history of our country, understanding our freedoms and understanding from a kid’s level, they may be able to articulate in a way that’s really clear, like, Hey, you know, our

[07:31] family, we value freedom and that’s the value of these stories here. So, you know, for you to put this forward, it’s just amazing. We’ll dive into a little bit more on the books in just a moment, but Kim, what would you say are some of your top takeaways from you reading the Tuttle Twins books? Well, I think it’s an understanding of economics, which I can always get better at, so I definitely read a lot and I enjoy economic information. Yet I too, I’m a big picture thinker. I’m not a detailed person. So I just get so frustrated with a lot of economic information that frankly just goes right over my head. Well, with a lot of Conor’s books, I’ve gained even more clarity about certain economic aspects that our world works under that I did not

[08:24] have good clarity about before. So that’s the first thing. Aspect of history I think will be very similar. And then there’s monetary aspects. So I’m separating now economics and money on purpose because there is some monetary aspects that he addresses also. In fact, my 25 year old son who reads incessantly just finished Conor’s book on the creature from Jekyll Island, which is a story about the federal reserve, not a story, it’s factual information about the federal reserve. And the original book is 600 some pages and Robbie has lots of things that he wants to read. And it was just like, mom, I don’t have time to read that book. I want to, but I can’t. It’s just, and I’m, you know, you could argue that he just didn’t

[09:13] put it up on the priority list. That’s not relevant out from our economy. There’s a book on inflation. I mean, there’s just fabulous info that he’s got. Absolutely. So you said one word in there that triggered my thinking. And I think it’s a place where we can dive with that, which is you were talking about the creature from Jekyll Island, which by the way, it’s a great book on the Tuttle Twins, but you mentioned fiction and that’s the problem that we have with our current history. So it has been construed and shifted in a way that a lot of our history is now fiction. And the other problem is a lot of the amazing things that happened in our country, because this book is from the years 1215 to 1776.

[10:01] So we’re talking three times in Philadelphia, you know, leading up to that, a lot of the hand of God happening, a lot of the miracles, a lot of the structures that they set up of how they’re going to operate with capitalism sounds like fiction nowadays, because the stories were so unbelievable. Yeah. Right. But I mean, like just to, you know, when you go back and you hear about, you know, what happened with Washington or you hear what’s going on with Madison or the things that Franklin did and everyone coming together, it sounds like fiction, but it’s that amazing. Well, and truly our ability to revise history in our brains is a very important skill. And so I’m grateful for that. And yet that same skill can cause us problems when we get wrong

[10:57] information, because somebody has written it down a certain way, and then somebody else picked that up and maybe added their perspective to it. And then it changed, you know, it’s like the game of telephone. You end up with a completely different story when you’re done. And so this is part of why I think it’s going to be so valuable for us adults to go back and read this book and get some clarity about things that we probably are not clear about. Yeah. Wonderful. They’re that good. And I am receiving a whole lot of nothing from saying this other

And I think as, as a society of people that have principles and values, that’s our duty in many ways to go and participate and spend our money with others that do that. Absolutely.
