[00:01] Welcome to the Prosperity Podcast. On this episode of the Prosperity Podcast, we’re going to be talking about the Kolbe Profile. If you’re not familiar with it, by the end of this short episode, you will know all that you need to so it’ll help you in your life, your family, and your business. Kim, you are an expert with this. We would love to hear from you. I’m so grateful to share wisdom about the Kolbe Profile. And I think we’ve got a longer podcast on it somewhere in the past. I have known Kathy Kolbe for close to 30 years. I used to live in the same area that she’s in Scottsdale, Arizona, and her children, I know as well, and a lot of the people at the company. And it is a fabulous tool to enable you to learn how you get results.

[00:50] It’s typically designed as a business tool. It’s $55. They have raised the price recently and it was $50 for literally 20 some years. So amazing to them that they are able to run a business that helps people identify how they get results. And unlike a lot of the personality profiles out there, many of which are free, the Kolbe Profile identifies what’s called conation. It starts C-O-N-A-T-I-O-N. And Kolbe, for people that are not familiar with it, is K-O-L-B, as in boy E. K-O-L-B-E.com is your place to spend $55 and get your conative, with a C, information. So again, conation or conative strengths. And again, this is how you get results. And it is how you get results when you’re striving, in other words, not when you’re

[01:45] hanging out on a Saturday chilling, but when you’re working, when you’re trying to get results. However, as I’ve indicated, that is true in a marriage, in a family. It is the most valuable tool to have for spouses, for children. There’s a youth version of the Kolbe that I think is $20 or something. And it is something that you’ll spend about 20 minutes on a computer with. You’ll get a 17-page printout, a video, instruction, a little snippet that’s personalized to your Kolbe Profile. And I reread my Kolbe information at least once a year. I reread my husband’s, my children’s, my key employees. I reread their Kolbes at least once a year. I’m very conscious of the information that it shares with us because it enables me to

[02:35] know how to approach projects, how to stay in my wheelhouse and not get involved in stuff that I shouldn’t be doing because I don’t have the natural talent for it. It gives me words to express my talent and also my lack of talent. And what’s so cool about the Kolbe information is it’s all about will and won’t, not can and can’t. In other words, I can gather facts. I can ask questions. I can get into detail. I just typically won’t. And so knowing this is so, so valuable. On the other hand, I will jump in first and see how deep it is later. It’s not that I can’t put on the brakes and do some research or whatever. I just won’t. So those are a couple aspects of the Kolbe information. So helpful.

[03:29] Additionally, it gives us a little guidance around time. In other words, from my Kolbe profile, I know that I’m a very future focused person. I don’t really care about history unless I’m going to learn from it quick and then move on. I absolutely don’t care what I did last weekend. I’m all about what’s today and what’s in front of me. Other people are very much about what’s yesterday and how does history impact us and wanting to look at the past and pull it forward, et cetera. And then some people are all about the present. And then some people actually integrate all three. Those things are super valuable to know when you’re working with somebody, when you’re trying to get something done. The best companies have their Kolbe profiles of all of their people.

[04:12] And everybody knows each other’s Kolbe profiles. They have it on their name tags. They have it on their doorways, on their pads at work, et cetera. I learned about Kolbe from Strategic Coach, even though Kathy’s office was literally two blocks from mine at the time. And so all of the Strategic Coach people, all the participants, entrepreneurs, team members, employees at Strategic Coach, everybody uses it. Hershey Candy Company is another company that uses Kolbe. Kolbe is known all over the world. There are sports teams that use it. The most valuable $55 that you can spend to learn about yourself. It’s like having an owner’s manual for yourself as a human being and how you get results in the world.

[04:54] Wonderful. So I think what we’ll do is we’ll link to the additional episodes that we’ve created about the Kolbe score. And also the best thing you can do is just invest the $55. I didn’t say spend, I said invest, because it is going to give you a result that is incredibly valuable. I pay for it for all of my employees. And when I’m working with key people, I’ll also pay for it because I find it that valuable. We’ll make sure to put the link to kolbe.com and to the other episodes so that you as a listener, regardless if you own a business or not, if you’re in a marriage, it’s something valuable to have as well. So regardless of the transactions or what you’re being involved with, it is something to invest your money in.
