[00:01] Welcome to the Prosperity Podcast. Prosperity thinkers, welcome to the podcast. Today, I’m going to do something fun. Kim doesn’t know about this yet. I haven’t even told Kim about this piece. There’s a YouTube channel that creates YouTube shorts. YouTube shorts are like the TikToks or those little Instagram videos. Sure are. Okay. The channel is called Rich vs. Really Rich. And it’s a guy that’s a comedian. It’s actually, it’s a really, it’s a really funny channel. I don’t know how I stumbled upon it. And he plays the role of like three different characters in the video. So he’ll play the role of the rich guy and then he’ll play the role of, you know, it could be, you know, the manager of a business or at a car

[00:48] dealership, or it could be the doorman or whatever, and then he’ll play the role of the really rich guy. The reason why it’s interesting is because you get a glimpse of how the rich versus the really rich talk and act. And I’ll tell you what, he’s pretty dang accurate. I love it. I’m going to ask you before we get into it. You’ve worked with people that are rich and you’ve worked with people that are really rich. What’s the difference between the two? I think it’s all mindset and how you are being while you’re doing what you’re doing. So how you’re showing up as a human. And the thing that’s so cool about it is that the aspect of that action, the how you’re being part and the mindset part are available to every

[01:42] single human being on the planet, whether they’re really rich, rich or not so much. And let’s dive in with the being piece because within the way that you’re being, if we say that is the external result, then we have to, let’s go back and look at it and say, okay, well, if that’s the external result, they must be doing something different. And for them to be doing something different, they have to be thinking different. Exactly. So let’s talk about that. How are the rich versus really rich thinking different? So to me, it comes to self-knowledge. So when we know who we are, when we spend time learning who we are, because as human beings, we’re always growing or dying one of the two. So figure it out and pick the one, right?

[02:40] Then we are able to be comfortable in our skin. And I believe that the really rich figured out, and sometimes this was monetarily related, sometimes not, that being super comfortable in their skin enables them to then have the mental aspect of I’m at peace, whatever comes my way, I can figure out, I can take advantage of opportunities, I can solve emergencies, and consequently, I can be somebody that others enjoy being with in that same space. And in fact, I just had an uncle come through for a visit a month or so ago that I hadn’t seen in quite a while, and he gave me and Todd the nicest compliment in the world. And that is that we were very obviously comfortable in our space. And it didn’t have anything to do with the material side of things.

[03:44] It had to do with the mindset and then the actions and the words and the attitudes that went with the daily activities that were going on. And so that’s what’s so cool about it is it starts up here, which is that thought process is available to everybody. Yes, that’s so true. So we both have experienced environments and I know this just from conversations we’ve had. We’ve experienced environments where we have friends or acquaintances, people that we know that are rich, maybe by society standards, they make good money and they have some of the things and we both have friends acquaintances that are really rich, meaning that, you know, things that we could, how do I say that? Not imagine, but it’s a different world, we’ll say it like that.

[04:37] Right. And what I’ve noticed and what happens in the rich versus really rich video is the rich approach a problem more of like a master and servant would take it. I have this problem, you need to solve it. This is your issue. Whereas really rich is, hey, how are you doing? Reaching out to the most humble servant out there, but not treating them like a servant, using respect and kindness, and then collaborating with them at getting the solution. Have you noticed the same? Absolutely. And they get so much better results because of it. And they’re happier going through the process because they’re lifting the space up rather than letting whatever the challenges bring them down. And it is a absolutely delightful thing to learn.

[05:38] And what’s so cool about it is we’ll probably never know, did the money come before the mindset or did the mindset come before the money? In other words, when you look out there at that quote, really rich space, which, you know, frankly, that definition changes for people. For some really rich is not the same as what really rich means for others. But that mindset is often there before the money. And when you look at the really rich, you have to ask yourself, did the money just amplify the mindset that was already there? In other words, if you take a selfish, egotistical person and you give them more money, they’re likely to just be more selfish and more egotistical. Whereas if you take somebody that’s humble and gracious and you give them

[06:36] or they earn, so I shouldn’t have said you give, they earn a lot of money to fall into that other really rich category, are they just more humble and more gracious and consequently, do they just get better results because they’re lifting up everybody in their space? It’s one of the things that I love about businesses. You know, the more profit a business makes, the more people it can hire to do what those human beings were brought on earth to do. And there’s nothing more valuable than paying somebody to do what they’re really good at so that you get the benefit of their talents. And I think the really rich are looking at their entire landscape through that lens. They absolutely are. You know, with the rich, they’re often looking at the objects and

[07:34] the things that they can acquire. And the really rich are looking at the experiences, the relationships, the things that matter. And so that ties in with one of your principles in life, which is faith in your finances, and it’s also using that faith in your prosperity. So how does a really rich person approach this with that prosperity lens? Well, the faith aspect of prosperity is a double definition of the word. It’s having faith in your ability to make decisions. It’s having faith in the decisions that you’ve made. It’s having faith in the money that you have or the businesses that you have that create that money or the real estate or whatever it is. It’s having faith in that. But it can also be interpreted as faith from a spiritual or an inspirational

[08:33] standpoint and having the faith that you and your teams, and I use that word team very, very loosely, can get good results because you’re providing good service or you have a good product or you’re doing good out in the world. And so pulling that together with the prosperity thinkers brand that we have and the knowledge that we know that thinking from a prosperous standpoint gets us better results than when we’re thinking from a scarcity standpoint and that decisions made in fear or scarcity are usually never good decisions, and it’s just pulling those two together. So you bring a prosperous lens and you bring faith in your ability to make decisions and faith in your finances together. And you’re absolutely going to get good results.

[09:27] And you’ll also be able to overcome the times when you don’t get good results since not everything is 100% in our control, it’s good to have faith in your ability to overcome obstacles as well as a prosperity lens with which to make good decisions during the overcoming of those obstacles. And so just having those two in mind and believe me, nobody’s a 100% at this, we’re all still working at this, but just acknowledging that having the prosperous lens plus the faith will enable you to overcome the obstacles and that if you’re not seeing your way through going back to those two things, prosperous thinking, can-do orientation, faith that you’ll be able to work through it, faith in the people that are helping you

[10:13] work through it, those will provide so much joy and capability and get you through or over or around whatever obstacles are coming up. That’s so good. I swear, Kim sometimes must know what’s going on inside of our internal organizations. You just said something that was so precise. Today, I spoke with one of our operators and I was explained the importance of focusing on the constraint because we had a challenge and it’s like, okay, let’s dissect this problem. Where is the real constraint? And if we focus on that constraint, we’ll create a breakthrough. Most people don’t do that because they see a constraint, but they don’t want to face it and so they build all the other things, which still

[10:56] throttles that ability to achieve. And the constraint that you’ve listed today with this faith in your finances and this is really that certainty, you having that certainty and that certainty creates the change. Is that a safe assumption? It is. And I’ll tell you something. If you don’t feel like you’re there yet, adopt the term act as if. So you’re there Spencer, and that’s part of why our podcast is such a joy for both of us, but a lot of our listeners may not be, or they may feel like right now, today, they are not. And so when we act as if that’s very different than fake it, tell you make it act as if is saying, I know I have this capability. I know that if I’ll settle down and listen, I’ll get through this.

[11:46] And our team will, again, team used very loosely, it could be your spouse, could be a virtual assistant, could be, you know, an employee, just all kinds of team members. Or, you know, it could be the person across the counter that you’re trying to solve the problem at the store with, if you’ll look at it that way, I know you’ll get good results and it’s just a much, much more enjoyable way of living. So good. Chem, thank you for sharing the lessons on rich versus really rich, but really we wrap this in and this is faith in your finances so that we can create more certainty. For all of you listeners out there, becoming really rich, as Chem mentioned earlier on, is it one of those things that we did in our

[12:27] minds first or did we get the money first? I would say that if we don’t have the money, we have to get the certainty and those habits and that good thinking. And if we do have the money, meaning we are born into it, if we don’t have it, we will lose it. The book, Perpetual Wealth, is a great explanation of that. How’s that for a summary? Awesome. Thank you so much. And just a quick nod to the future. We’ll have a workbook and a game to support the learning in the Perpetual Wealth book coming out shortly. Perfect. Thank you for listening to this podcast and we hope that all of you are able to bring in that really rich and that prosperity lens in your lives. Thank you for listening to the Prosperity Podcast.
