[00:01] Welcome to the Prosperity Podcast. Prosperity thinkers, on this episode, we’re going to be talking about the resurgence of Christianity, family, and prosperity. And this is due to what’s happening in the news and the world. We’ve seen an absolute shift. So Kim, this isn’t a podcast that we often talk about the news or we get deep into those things. But let’s hone in and get current eventy, I guess we’ll call it that. I love it. Current eventy. Yes. So for all of our listeners, you’ve probably seen some of the attacks that have been on people that are focusing on the Constitution, focusing on their beliefs of family, of religion, political pieces, and a sad event, the passing away of Charlie Kirk.

[00:57] That was something that shook everyone, be it left, right, American or non-American. And what it’s done is it’s awakened a giant, it’s awakened people within and it’s made some people that maybe weren’t tolerant, more tolerant. And it’s made some people that weren’t aware, aware. So let’s talk about this from the prosperity perspective of this resurgence that’s happening. There’s one phrase that you use that we want to append to this conversation. Awesome. Well, it is interesting because there are certain, I’m going to call them laws that operate in our world that are there and work in a certain way, whether we like them or not. And one of those laws is gravity. Last time I checked, you can’t go walking off a fourth story building and expect to

[01:48] have results be good because of the law of gravity. One of those laws is around capitalism. And I believe that you can’t go march into life and think that capitalism doesn’t work and, you know, get good results in creating value for people and then being paid for that value, which you should be. And if you’re not, then the value creation or the messaging in that value space was not accurate. One of the laws is it’s a physics law. I can’t get the name of it off the top of my head right now, but it’s about things in motion. And this is what we’re hearing about the movement behind the thinking behind the man who sadly we don’t have anymore with us. But the movement and the thinking are exploding.

[02:41] And so something like an object that’s in motion, stays in motion, something like that is the physics law that I’m quoting. And it’s interesting. I remember when I was probably 45 or so, I had been working with a trainer, like a physical workout partner for a long time, and I had moved states and I just thought, you know what, let’s just take a break. I’m just going to go into maintenance mode for a while. There is no such thing. You are either moving forward or you are falling back. And it is true with our health, the way that we eat, whether we lift weights or not, and it’s also true with our money. You’re either moving forward or falling back. There is no such thing as maintenance mode. And so it was an instructive time in my life to realize this doesn’t work.

[03:26] And I’ve seen it happen in people’s financial lives as well, especially those that are thinking about the crossover into a societal construct called retirement. And I’m going to put forth that is not a law. That’s a societal construct. It was invented in the 1930s and put into our world with the words and the age 65, neither of which have been adjusted as we progress and live longer and longer lives. And then more importantly, realize that what is supposed to happen in retirement doesn’t work for probably 80 percent of the population. I absolutely get it. There are some people that can pull that off and that’s fine. And kudos to them. But we’re put on this earth to serve and to create value.

[04:20] And we want to be in a position to do that first so that we get all of the joy and the capacity and the growth and the freedom because we create value. And, yes, we get paid. So help me. I feel like I did a little bunny rabbit trail there. Help me bring this back to a message that will help our listeners move forward. Definitely. So I took a note while you were talking because there was something that you said that’s profound. And I’m taking a step off of that, which is you said there’s the law of that. And we’re talking about the law. And in context, you were talking about retirement, how this was invented. So I’m going to say retirement, as you mentioned, they pretend that it’s a law. They pretend that.

[05:12] So it’s not a law. It’s a lie. It’s another three-letter word. It’s a lie. Yes. The same thing is happening with what’s been going on out in the world until we hit our boiling point. See, we’re at a degree below boiling. And these moments have caused things to boil. So it’s as though all of the veneer has melted away. So go for that, Kim. That’s what’s critical right now. Well, the sad thing is that you can tell a lie in a sentence. But it often takes a whole paragraph to tell the truth. So another law is the law of large numbers. That is the law around insurance, all kinds of insurance. Now, life insurance happens to be my field of expertise. But it is true of car insurance and every other kind of insurance,

[06:11] the law of large numbers. And so there are lies out there that gets parroted, like just repeated over and over. One of them is whole life is a scam, or whole life has a bad return, or whole life is a punty scheme, or fill in the blank. There’s a lot of lies around whole life as a product. In order to get the truth out there, it is necessary to say an entire paragraph. And so it’s very important that when we’re reading, when we’re watching, when we’re listening, that we be on the lookout for potential one sentence lies. And we go and dig deeper. And I am always interested in what is the source? Who is writing this? Who is saying this? Because I am well aware, as I hope most people are, chat GPT, for example,

[07:10] which I love and I have my own private version of, it absolutely pulls information from the web at a very surface-y level and can easily pull lies and restate them in a way that would make us think it’s the truth. So we need to be very careful about our sources. We need to dig a little deeper. We need to be willing to spend. It doesn’t take a lot, just a few more clicks in order to get the whole truth. And included in that whole truth may be the opposite way of thinking. And there’s so much good that can come from the opposite way of thinking. You know, if I’m meeting with somebody for the first time and they’re maybe just fairly new to our space and they haven’t read all of our books on Amazon

[07:55] or even our tiny little beginning book, Live Your Life Insurance, and I’ll say, you know, do you have questions about this? And they’ll say, like, yeah, but I don’t even really know what to ask. Well, let’s start with the lies, right? Let’s identify some lies so that you can be aware of them because then when you go look it up on the web, which, of course, they’re going to do, you can be alert to the lies and you can dig a little deeper to get the whole truth. Definitely. So you just came full circle from what we said at the beginning, and I’m going to take us there, which is this. We talked about Charlie Kirk. We talked about a phrase that you use, and it’s this, Charlie would sit down and have open debate.

[08:40] Yes. And it was actually a very respectful debate for the most part. Yep. And it was a phrase that was often used is prove me wrong. And what was really interesting, how you just took that full circle, is people would come up with a sentence that was a lie, and he would come back full circle with the paragraph of the truth. Sometimes his statement would get clearer and he would have empathy or sympathy for the person, meaning maybe their lie was not intentional or maybe their lie had some truth and it was clarified. But there’s a phrase that you use, which I wrote down, which is show me. So when someone thinks that their qualified plan is the eighth wonder of the world, or they think that prepaying their mortgage

[09:35] is the best thing that they can do, or they think that their mutual fund is going to grow at an average of 8% for the rest of their lives, I like to say, great, will you show that to me? Because in finance, we can pull numbers, pull math, and when we’re using all of the facts, which is why you’ll hear me say the whole truth a lot of times, and we remember that personal finance must have the element of time in it. You cannot do personal finance on a handheld calculator. You must have a personal financial calculator to do it. Now you can get these for free on the web, et cetera. HP12Cs are the best well-known ones, but most people are not gonna use them because they’re complex. But the involvement of time

[10:30] in a discussion around personal finance enables me to then show them how it really works. So I love to say to people, show me how that’s going to play out, and then I now have a chance to show them the whole truth of the situation, utilizing Todd Langford’s truth concepts calculators, which anybody can get, so while I appear biased because he’s my husband, anybody can go to truthconcepts.com. They can download those financial calculators for free forever, and if they want, especially if they’re in the financial services industry and they want to be able to show how the math plays out in all scenarios, the prepayment of the mortgage and how inefficient and ineffective that is, the qualified plan, and while you might wanna fund it

[11:18] up to the match level in ATCH, you probably don’t wanna max it out, MAX, the life insurance space, the car buying decisions that are really detrimental to a family over a decade or more, and of course you don’t know it till you’ve been in the car buying for 10, 12 years and then really scary if you don’t look at it for 30 years. All of these things we can show or demonstrate the whole truth about the situation. So if you’re looking at your personal finances and you don’t have a way to show the results and you make sure that time value of money is involved, then please reach out to me because we can, with the Truth Concepts suite of calculators, demonstrate or show any personal financial situation

[12:13] with the time value of money included. That’s so good. That’s the paragraph of truth. That’s not the sentence. That’s good. You came all the way full circle there. Kim, thank you. For all of our listeners, as we let out, there’s a resurgence for family, for faith, for prosperity right now. And that resurgence is because it’s people clinging for truth. There’s noise and there’s signal. They want pure signal. So Kim, I appreciate the message.
