[00:01] Welcome to the Prosperity Podcast. Prosperity thinkers, welcome to the podcast. We’re gonna be talking about hidden money scripts, specifically on reprogramming your mind for abundance. So that’s the topic that I did some research. I found like it would be a good fit for the podcast. Does this fit with you? Is this something that Kim would say, reprogramming the mind for abundance or is this kind of like, might be a little too far out there? Where does that sit? And let’s find the prosperity thinker version. Well, I love that you’ve brought it up and it is a very good fit because our next book is on busting the scarcity mindset. And it is something that every single one of us deal with every single day.

[00:48] If we’re not admitting that to ourselves, then we’re lying to ourselves. And it might take you such a short time to bust whatever scarcity thought you have that you think you’re not having them anymore. Maybe that’s your case. But I find even my wealthier clients that are in later stages of their life, they have guaranteed income, they have investment income, they have a cashflow and a net worth that will be sufficient for a long life and the next generation, still have scarcity mindset issues. And it could be maybe that they’re missing out on something. Oh my gosh, maybe that net worth could have been a little bigger. Maybe they would like to do more for charity and they don’t feel like they can

[01:36] because they want to make sure that their own family is taken care of. These are all areas where a scarcity mindset can come in. It’s funny, I was just thinking about the other day, a family visit occurred. This was not my family, but there were a couple of generations and there were actually three. So the top two, so there were grandchildren and then the grandparents and the parents. And the grandparent was expressing a scarcity mindset about something. And it was a lack of confidence and they were going through a bit of a retirement shift and I think that causes extreme lack of confidence in being a human. And so the parents who were in their 40s were shocked by this. I mean, you look at your own parents

[02:27] and you just don’t think that they’re gonna deal with confidence issues, and yet they were. And so it was fun to watch the 40-year-olds kind of settle down a little bit in a way that they could be supportive of this 70-year-old adult that was dealing with confidence issues. And this is a very capable person. And so these are the types of things that are happening in our lives all the time. And again, it’s not whether or not we fall into a scarcity mindset. It’s how quickly we can get out of it. So true. You’ve mentioned several times on the podcast the resilience, the bouncing back from it. I’m gonna, so on a couple of episodes before we hit record, I said, hey, I was gonna share a really cool book.

[03:20] And the book fits in with this episode. So it’s a book that I learned about from Ryan Holiday. So Ryan Holiday is a phenomenal writer. And Ryan mentioned this book. It’s called The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, The Horse. It’s a kid’s book. And it is about a lot of that mental thinking. It’s a lot of that abundance thinking. Really good. Kim, I hope you grab a copy of it. Well written. And there’s an audio version. If you have Spotify, it’s included in your Spotify account. Phenomenal. I love that. It’s so amazing. The learnings that can go on when adults read children’s books. There are some incredible children’s books out there. And I absolutely appreciate Ryan Holiday’s perspective. He has amazing books himself that are very helpful.

[04:26] And I love this space because our additional project in line with what we’re doing on Prosperity Thinkers is Prosperity Parents. And so what an amazing thing that we can recommend a book that helps parents do a good job of raising their children into good, effective young adults. And so then not only do we get to teach the parent generation, we get to teach those young children. And who probably reads books to young children more than anybody else other than the parent. And that’s the grandparent. So just like I was describing earlier, those three generations, I mean, that’s what we talk about in our Perpetual Wealth book. And yet we need implementation help, right? So this book, The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, The Horse,

[05:19] how fun, I can’t wait to grab it. So glad that you brought it up. It will be valuable, we know, to three generations, the children that the book is designed for, the parents for the good layer of learning that they will also get, and then the grandparents. And I know we are working on children’s books as well. We have the first one out there for our first principle of prosperity, which is to think. And there will be six more forthcoming this year that I’m so excited to help people with. 100% yes. The, our family just went through the book, The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, The Horse, this week. All right, I guess it was last week. So within the last week, we’ve done it. I’m gonna give a pro tip. I’ll share the pro tip.

[06:08] It, we did the audio version in the car. And what’s cool, it can be listened to in less than an hour. So if you’re going somewhere as a family, I, and I tell my kids this, and I, these are some of the words I say, hey, I’ve got a captive audience. So like, you guys can’t go anywhere right now. And we are not a use devices in the car family. We like to be focused and car rides are great conversation. So grandparents and kids, parents and kids, maybe self, this is it. It’s a great time to do it. And yes, the books that we’re writing, Prosperity Pets, if we can write it helpful for parents to be able to teach the kids, I think we’ve done something well. So lastly, the resilience. So take the resilience that you mentioned

[07:02] from the very beginning. And let’s inject a couple pieces of wisdom before we wrap out this episode of helping people bounce back. What are some of the couple takeaways that you have? Absolutely. I think everyone should have one or two go-to activities that they turn to when the chips are down. So for some people, that’s reading something spiritual. For others, it’s getting outside in nature. For somebody else, it might be physically getting involved in something, doing a workout or something like that. For a fourth example is music. All of those things turn us around. They are psychological shifts. Actually, I think the word is physiological shifts where they’re literally impacting your body.

[07:52] Now somebody might say, oh, well, spiritual reading isn’t. Well, who are you to judge? It is for some people. So four specific things there, just music, reading, getting out physically, and getting out in nature, which could be the same thing. That is what can breed that capability for resilience. And then it’s practice, right? It’s overcoming obstacles, being resilient, overcoming them again, being resilient, understanding that’s part of life. And it’s a bigger part of entrepreneurial life than it is of quote, regular job life. It’s absolutely part of sports, which is why I think young children playing sports as often as they can through school, so, so helpful. And could be true in drama or art

[08:40] or any of the other things where there’s practice and preparation and then there’s a performance. So music, et cetera. These are the things that are a part of life and we can be so, so grateful for them. And it’s really important to not overlook them and just think that, oh, this is same old. I just wanna scream when I hear somebody get asked the question, how’s life or how you doing? And they say, same old. I just think, oh my gosh, oh please, let’s redo that. Let’s stop and think about something that we’re grateful for or create value for somebody so that good in the world is forward and not get tied into this way too easy flippant answer of same old. Yeah, definitely not. I love it. Those are four really good examples.

[09:30] And for any of you listeners that are, again, this is about building abundance and shaping your mind. For any of you listeners, the book Busting the Scarcity Mindset is coming out in the month of March. You’re gonna be able to get your hands on the physical copies after that, after the Kindle. Get the Kindle version first. It’ll be helpful. And there’s going to be a special email subscriber offer where you get some bonuses for that. The website again, you wanna list that website so they can get it. It’s bustingscarcitymindset.com and one of the bonuses that you hinted at is a list of songs. Songs that I turn to when the chips are down. Okay, I love it. Love it. Okay, Kim, thank you for sharing your wisdom
