[00:01] Welcome to the Prosperity Podcast. Prosperity thinkers, welcome to the podcast. We’re gonna be diving into AI, and yes, we’ve talked about that several times recently, but this is coming from Dan Sullivan, who Kim, you often refer to Dan Sullivan’s books, his teachings, and his ability to have insight. So let’s dive into one of the things that piqued your interest. You sent me an email, and this is a topic that’s relevant for right now. Well, it is so amazing in the AI space, which has literally, for some people, just become a space in the last like six months, right? For others, it’s been a space for, what would you say, five years? I mean, obviously previous to that, but in the business world,
[00:55] it’s definitely been a space for three to five years, would you say? Yes, three to five years is pretty safe. I think people have jumped into one of two camps, and they may not have done it consciously. And that is either the prosperity thinker camp towards AI, which is, this is interesting. How can we learn? What can I do? How can I open my mind? What are the possibilities? Or they’ve jumped into what I only know to call the opposite world, which is the scarcity thinker camp. I mean, it could have some other monikers, but it’s the, oh dear, scary, this can be bad. This is dangerous. This could hurt us. What if, what if, what if, what if, what if, what if? And the thing is that there’s not really answers
[01:45] to the what ifs. And what I love about Dan and his good thinking is he gives us a deeper level of the prosperity thinker. I’m immediate to prosperity thinkers. Now, not all the time. Sometimes I have to catch myself and move my mind from scarcity thinking and prosperity thinking. But for the most part, I’m pretty quick to jump into the prosperity camp. But Dan goes a little deeper level, and I’m so grateful for that. And Spencer, you and I have a ton of AI projects that we’re working on. So I’m excited for our conversation. Absolutely. So I think one thing that will help layer and set some context with this in my mind, coming from Dan and from you, is that Dan works from a different framework.
[02:35] And what he said for a number of years is how old is Dan? Mid 70s now, is that about right? Sounds about right. He did just have a birthday and I literally never pay attention to people’s ages. So mid 70s is good enough. Mid 70s. But one thing that he talks about often is that he has a lot of conversations with the youth. So people that are in their teens and 20s, and he does it because they think different, they act different, and they’re able to have some insights that he wouldn’t get. So let’s take that framework and then also apply that framework to AI. So where the people that I see that have problems with AI or they push back and they’re not thinking prosperously, is they either hang onto the belief of,
[03:23] wow, this is going to take away jobs or this is going to invade privacy of some sort. And I look at it as this is going to save time and it’s gonna be able to extract things that I may not have thought of in the past. So how are you looking at this? And let’s start, obviously you’re gonna see it from a prosperous mind. So how are you seeing it? And then let’s frame in the other pieces. Sure. Well, the deeper level that Dan reminded me of is the unique ability that human beings have. And this is a strategic coach word. It’s been around a long, long, long time. And it is the God-given talent. And it is sometimes identified by the Colby profile. Many people in our community also use the strengths finders profile.
[04:14] They might use the print profile, which is kind of a private one, but still very valuable to help them identify the God-given talent that they have. And then of course we have things like Tammy Brannon’s blueprint process that help us identify our purpose and our cause in life. When we are clear about what our unique ability is and how that is demonstrated in the world through our purpose, AI is just a helping mechanism. It’s just a way to help us serve more, serve better, serve faster, serve cheaper possibly. And that is everything that a business owner, that an entrepreneurial thinker, that a prosperity thinker wants is the ability to serve more. Because when we’re in our purpose, we get so much energy
[05:15] and we have so much fun. Just a quick story. I remember coming back from an amazing vacation just a couple of weeks ago where we had a ball. It was the best of all worlds. There was activity. There was downtime. There was good food. There was times when we didn’t have to deal with food, which is always a favorite of mine. Like, oh, please wait, too much food. And I came back to a day full of meetings that I was completely prepared for. And I was so energized, so excited, so fulfilled because I was using my unique ability with my purpose, which is to activate service in people and to help them use their finances to serve. And I was like more excited than I’d been on vacation. And I know how valuable the vacation was,
[06:03] the free days, super critical, yet what an awesome feeling. I was truly grateful. That is amazing because one, you’ve done a lot of work to get there. Let’s unpack a couple of layers of this. The Colby, you understand what your natural strengths are. You’ve gone through Tammy’s blueprint process. You understand what ignites you and you have a really strong compass. What’s unique about this is that, and when we see things like Colby, the amount of work and thought that it took to create that without AI is amazing. And now we have not to that level because I’m looking at AI and I wanna teach the framework of what you put in is what you get out and it’s called a prompt. Very well said. The prompts are critical.
[07:01] Very well said. Exactly. And so the prompt questions from Colby are so good that it allows us to get an end result. Now we can become better at prompting. And so back to what you were saying at the beginning of your story, you came back with more energy because you knew what you were good at and you focused what you’re good at. So in this episode, I’d also love to be able to maybe share a few frameworks of how each of us are using this. And there’s one pushback that I have from Dan’s newsletter that I wanna say as well. But first tell us how are you using this AI and your unique ability combined? The ability for AI to help me write is super, super helpful. So right now for our prosperity thinkers community,
[07:54] we’re redeveloping our prosperity pledge membership. So the prosperity pledge has been around for maybe about a year. And I created it with the help of the team and I’m grateful. It’s got some really good impactful middle spaces. But what it’s not so good at is the beginning and the end. And so I went into, I use ChatGPT. I also like Bard, it doesn’t really matter. And I asked it to give me a three-part email series to entice somebody to use a download. So we all know that in the world today, when you go on somebody’s website, you can put your email in and you get some type of download. Nevertheless, so many of us forget where it is or it’s somewhere on our phone and we don’t know how to find it
[08:46] or we forgot how to find it and or moved it. And maybe it’s 20 pages and we read the first two. So it’s fairly common to send a series of emails after that fact. Well, our prosperity pledge has some amazing downloads but statistics show that when people buy a membership like that, they only consume 15% of it, one five. I don’t want our prosperity thinkers who step up a level and sign up for the prosperity pledge, which costs money to only get 15% of the value. And so I wanted an email to help entice them to consume the value. Well, the first series of emails that it gave me were okay and I could tweak them to my purposes, add in my language and thinking. But then I thought, and this is the prompts,
[09:43] this is the framework Spencer that you indicated is like, let’s help our listeners understand really how to use them. So I went back into the prompt, which is the flashing button at the bottom and said, up level this, I think was my word or make it more advanced. And it came back with a regenerated, upgraded series of emails that was even better. And then I could have gone further, but I just took that and made the changes that I wanted to make so that it was in my own voice. That probably saved me an hour of time. That’s amazing. An hour is huge. But actually there’s more to an hour of your time because what it takes to get in the state of writing, to get in the state of the customer, to get in the state of blocking everything out,
[10:35] that’s not an hour. That’s more like five, six, seven hours and it’s very intentional. That’s what’s huge about it. Yeah, well said. So one thing that Dan mentions in the newsletter that I have to push back on and then yes, I’m gonna share some examples where I use it. Dan says that, and I agree with this, it lacks human traits, yeah, for the most part. He says that the future is human, humans are unpredictable. I agree with that. Then he says, it’s reactive and I have to push back. Because I believe that once you have learned how to prompt it and fed it with really good information, it can be proactive, meaning it can create the guide for you. So what it looks like is being able to say this,
[11:26] this and this, I mean, and giving it as much specifics of the past. So like, hey, here’s a project I’ve worked on. Here’s how it went. Here were the challenges that we had. Here are the problems and here’s how we overcame them. I have a similar project. How can we overcome potential obstacles that we haven’t faced yet? It will give the solutions. That’s proactive. But it takes thinking to do that. So it might not do it for you. You have to be proactive as well, but it’s a proactive companion. Well, it’s so important to just start to play with it and to learn what prompts work for you to, like you said, feed it the information that you want it to know about your thinking. And there will be guidance as we progress
[12:18] to narrow that ability down even more so that you can just pop in there and know, but it’s so capable when we are open-minded to it. And when we look for the good in it, we will find the good in it. And I agree, reactive is somewhat of a negative word. It implies that there’s negativity to A and then B and that B is negative according to A, whereas proactive indicates that B can possibly even come before A. And that’s where you get some of the time savings and some of the really up-leveling of information and the data, the words in this case, that come out of the system and it’ll just get better and better. That’s the fun part. Yeah, it’s absolutely amazing. So I’m gonna give four quick examples of how I use it.
[13:13] Some were gonna be work examples and then other family examples. Fabulous. One is Zane, he’s my oldest. He’s figuring out what he wants to do for opportunities. He’s graduated a year early, homeschooled kid. And so now it’s like career path. So I helped create a very complex Google sheet of opportunities and it had weights to it. So for example, it was put in the opportunity and then it would say, this will be very time consuming or this will cost a lot of money or this is a lot of risk. And there was a weight. So that means it’s a really complicated formula. I don’t know how to do complicated formulas. So I went into chat and I explained it. And I said, hey, I need a formula for a Google sheet.
[14:03] It has to have these weights to it. And it spit back a formula that I never would have created. It was amazing. In Brazil, yeah, Zane went through and he was able to type in different ideas and it gave him a score and clearly he knew what to work on. Wow, that’s so cool. Then another example is a family example. It goes along with meal planning and chores. So those are two jobs that aren’t the most fun. So what we did is we said, here are the kids in the family and here are all the chores in the household. And then we said, go out and assign them. And chat went through and it created a calendar. And it said, on Mondays, this person does this, on Fridays, this person does this, blah, blah, blah.
[14:52] It was great. No fighting, everyone agreed. There’s the accountability in place. Same with meal planning. It went through, it’s like, these are the types of foods we like and these are the people that like to cook. Go make a list. And it planned out the meals. So it simplified. That was really helpful. So those are two examples. The third example that I think any of us can use is we can have AI as a Zoom companion. So there are tools like Fathom or Fireflies that will sit in your Zoom meetings, record, take notes, give you action items, follow up with a summary. So now it saves you a ton of time. And then my last example is extraction. You can take an email, a really long email. I had someone send me a gigantic email
[15:41] and I didn’t wanna read it all. And so I just copy and pasted and I said, what are the action items I need to take and what’s the summary? Yep. And it was amazing. Saves time. That’s the gist of it for me at least. Yeah, I agree. And I think it up levels your ability because of the time that gets saved. I mean, it’s truly mind boggling, even though you know that it’s gonna come back with at least round one of the information. Yes. And so maybe it needs a round two. You can push the regenerate button if you need a round two or you can feed it more information. And that’s the critical message that I wanna close with for our listeners today is that you prompted it with data and then it helped you even more.
[16:30] Totally, totally. My call to action for any of you listeners is to see how you can apply it to your lives, which you just mentioned by prompting and regenerating, but also get the experience. So Kim, you went and created the email sequence to make the prosperity pledge better for others. So for any of you out there that are not familiar with the prosperity pledge, send an email to hello at prosperitythinkers.com so that you can find out what it is and you can go through that experience and see AI for yourself. And if you are using this AI, this technology to better your life or your business, send an email in, let us know so that we can learn from you because this is very much a conversation piece.
[17:22] So it was really helpful, Kim. Well said. Thank you, Spencer. Thank you for listening to the Prosperity Podcast. To take control of your money and have it work for you, visit prosperitythinkers.com.
