[00:01] Welcome to the Prosperity Podcast. Prosperity thinkers, welcome to the podcast. We are bringing our friend, Artificial Intelligence Chat to this conversation, which helped us pick this topic. I’ve shared a few of them with Kim. And first off, what do you think of this way we’re approaching it with AI? Well, I love it. I’ve been an AI fan for a long, long time. I was just actually speaking with an AI expert yesterday. And I told him about a project that we started two years ago. And he said, two years, wow. Like, you know, this thing’s changing daily now, but you were definitely on it before the knee of the curve. Which is like, you know, as you go down the hockey stick right before it goes, whoop, to go up.
[00:51] So yeah, I love AI. I’ll admit it. It’s amazing. It really is. And you know, by the time this episode is listened to, if it’s tomorrow, everything will have completely changed. It’s not the truth. Yeah, it really is. So to give context to this episode, I went through and I said, hey, let’s pick some topics. I gave background on what the show is and what our listeners enjoy. And it gave us different topics. And so we’re gonna go with one of those today. And this topic is, the drum roll, the intersection of health and wealth, investing in your wellbeing for long-term prosperity. So for you, Kim, you’ve mentioned that some of the health things that you enjoy are going on walks with Emma Dogg, petting Emma Dogg.
[01:44] Well, okay, we’ll stop there with Emma because we’ll just keep going. But you’re also conscious of keeping your body healthy, your mind healthy with food, exercise. Let’s go into that and how it’s tied to prosperity. Absolutely. Well, there is the age-old quote to whom I don’t know it’s attributed. And that is, any man that has their health has many wishes. And any person that does not have their health has only one wish. And I know just the other day, as a matter of fact, so I try not to eat dairy. Ice cream is an exception, which basically means that I try to eat no dairy so that I can have ice cream. And I had a whole bunch of cheese and I know better than this. It put me into just a mental and physical funk
[02:42] for a day while that stuff went through my system. I know better. And so whether we’re talking about our physical health and really getting dialed in on what we should eat that is best for us, which I have some ideas on, of course, or our mental health, because it’s amazing how the two are combined and what we need to do mentally, or you could even say spiritually or inspirationally for our minds and how that ties to our financial health. And all three of these things are together because if we don’t spend a little bit of money on our physical and mental health now, we’re gonna be spending all our money on our physical and mental health later and in not a fun way, in way more of a can we fix this problem way
[03:38] than what we could do today, which is preventative and joyful and gives us even more energy to do even more things, help even more people live even longer, healthier lives. Just one more sentence before I get your feedback on this. Peter Diamandis talks about a health span. It’s not a lifespan we’re seeking. It’s a health span. Like how long can I live healthily? That’s what we want because that’s where the fun and the joy is, which is where prosperity is in that intersection. Absolutely. So talk us about the health things that you’ve learned because you mentioned you’re not using dairy and then we know that the gut is tied to the brain and so it creates a fog in there. And then you’ve learned what works for you
[04:35] and what doesn’t. So let’s just rewind the clock back to when you first realized, wait, my health is tied to my mental activity. Let’s go back to that and what are some of the first changes you made? Well, this has a really funny story because this is in the era of fax machines. The internet did not exist and I had two kids within a year and eight days. So I have a pretty small frame of a body and when you put 20 pounds on top of 20 pounds for each pregnancy, I had some work to do afterwards. And so I came home from a strategic coach event. So I’ve been attending strategic coach at this point for about three years, I think. And I was crystal clear that I needed to find a who and the who not how book didn’t even exist.
[05:31] But I knew that my who needed to be a health coach or a food coach, if you will. She literally had the title food coach. So I hired her and she took me to the grocery store and pointed out some things that I could do. I was in a very active business environment at that time. So I was back from staying at home with each child for a little while and on the go all the time, she took me to the six or seven main fast food restaurants and gave me some guidance on what I could eat at each of those fast food restaurants. So like quick story on the grocery store, everybody knows this now, but I didn’t know it. Stay on the outside, right? Stay where the fresh vegetables is and the fresh meat and whatnot,
[06:19] which actually very quickly necessitated me hiring some cook help because I don’t do very well with the meat department. And on the fast food, like go to Wendy’s and get their hamburger because at that time she had, her research indicated that was the healthiest one. Don’t eat the bun. Like get the hamburger, don’t eat the bun. Don’t eat ketchup, don’t eat mustard. Like all that stuff has a bunch of sugar in it. So these were some of the things that she taught, but there’s one more really funny story. And that’s that when she first started working with me, she said, you need more protein. Now I grew up on a farm with a garden. My mom handled most of the food things because I was always outside milking the cows,
[07:00] hauling the hay, whatever. If you’re new to this podcast, yes, really. That’s how I lived my life growing up. And I didn’t know what protein was. She said, you need more protein. I said, what’s that? So again, this was 19, mid nineties. Can’t remember 97, probably 98, like right before the internet came. So she had me do a food journal, which is a fabulous thing. If you are not clear on what you’re eating and how it’s affecting you mentally, do a food journal. And I faxed her my food journal one day. And for lunch that day, I had grapes and water. Like, I don’t know what I was doing that day. Clearly very busy, grapes and water. And she faxed back. And the new cool thing in the era was a color fax machine.
[07:51] So she faxed back. In red, this is not a lunch. So this is, you asked for some first stories how I learned that I had to eat what was best for me. Because inch that forward a little bit, she was a vegetarian and she was not trying to help me be a vegetarian. She was trying to help me figure out what worked best for me. And I figured out also through a couple other things that I’ll share. One was a blood type test, which I had to get when I was pregnant. So I had both my children at home and the only thing that the midwives had to do for state requirements was a blood type test. So I knew that I was blood type O. I didn’t know what that meant. But at that time, there was a diet that was very popular
[08:45] and it was called four-year blood type. And I learned from the four-year blood type information that red meat was actually really, really good for me. And I could totally tell that I was mentally and physically more energetic when I ate red meat, almost every day. And so Lori, the food coach was like, okay, then that’s your thing. That’s fine. That’s what you need to do for you. I was very, very grateful. Now, I think fast forward, people have sort of proven the blood type thing is not accurate. I don’t really know. I don’t care. I know it works for me. But what is more accurate that we can do today is Viome, V-I-O-M-E. And this is about $150, maybe a little bit more than that. I can’t remember.
[09:33] Test that you take and it does require some physical samples. You can read into that as much as you’d like. That you send off and they send you back a list of your five super foods. And then you’re supposed to do this once or twice a year, because apparently your chemistry changes just enough throughout the year and the seasons, right? In the hunter gatherer days, we didn’t have fresh strawberries year round. You had fresh strawberries a couple of times or a couple of months out of the year and that was it. So the Viome people say that you’re supposed to do it fairly often. I don’t, I just got my five super foods. I think I’ve done it twice. But again, it was very confirming of some information
[10:20] that I already knew just by trial and error, which is a pain. Eat cheese, feel horrible for a day, but let’s shortcut that big time. Otherwise you’re gonna be a month later having gone all kinds of feeling great and feeling horrible days, which is just not fun. And when you’re trying to run a business, it’s really not an option. So it’s Viome.com. I believe we’ll find that for sure and put it in the show notes. And I highly recommend it. Not connected to it at all, but I do happen to know the owner, Naveen Jain. I’ve sat with him at some of the Abundance 360 events. You wanna talk about a man on a mission and his story is amazing. And I believe it’s on their website where he got the technology is even more cool.
[11:02] And I highly recommend it because food impacts not only our bodies, obviously, but our minds, our capabilities, our energy. And you can’t feel prosperous. You can’t do prosperous thinking when you’re not feeling great. Absolutely. You know, you packed so many pieces in there. There was something in this. There’s actually three points that I wanna recap and cover. One is that all of us have been sick at some point or another in our lives. And we all know what it feels like to come off of a sickness. And it’s the most amazing thing because all of a sudden it’s like, oh, right, I have this energy. I’m going to accomplish everything in the world and I can actually do it. And you let out the episode stating that
[11:54] when we are sick or we have health challenges, that’s the only thing that matters. And so when you went through these pieces and you mentioned a couple of points that I wanna tie in, it’s hopefully makes sense, we’ll see. Which is this, you knew that you had a problem. You found a coach. Now, on top of that, you could have done what everyone else was doing, meaning it’s go read whatever trendy book there is and hope that that works. And you read books, you got information, but you had a coach that helped personalize it. Fast forward to Viom. And now you got something even more personalized. When you were explaining that, I thought about how you run your operation and the prosperity world that you’re thinking in that,
[12:51] which is this, all day long, you can talk to people that are healthy with their finances or sick with their finances. And if they’re sick, they’re looking for a solution and they can go put money in the stock market. They can go in whatever website tells them this or that, but you’re acting like a coach and you’re going through and you’re asking questions and you’re tailoring it specific to their needs. So now they can become prosperous and healthy financially. That’s what went through my mind when you were saying those things. Well, it’s really, really well said because personalized guidance is just the bomb. And there’s no reason in today’s world to not take anything that we’re working on
[13:40] and get personalized guidance for it, because you can do so at very reasonable rates. And frankly, we put more weight and value on things that we pay for. And so pay a little bit to get even more personalized guidance, whether it’s for your personal finances or for your health or for your food or for your physical workouts or for your spiritual approaches to life or your mental or inspirational needs, get personalized guidance. Absolutely. My final thought of this was a person that I met 20 plus years ago. There’s a guy named Don Wildman. He started a company called Bally’s Gym. And Don was in his seventies at the time. And he was in better shape than me. I mean, that was a specimen of health.
[14:41] And that was one of those moments I said, wow. You know, most people, they retire and they really retire. And he did not retire. In fact, he got stronger and stronger. And it said, I said to myself, this is a perfect example of someone that can continue on an age. And I’m younger. I can not have to think about repairing. I can think more about persevering. And that was important to me. Love it. Yeah, well said. Yes. So listeners, thank you for engaging about and understanding the prosperity in our bodies means the prosperity in our minds. And that will be the prosperity of our finances. If you do have questions on the finance side, you’re saying, hey, I want the biome of my finances. I wanna know what this should look like.
