[00:01] Welcome to the Prosperity Podcast. Prosperity thinkers, welcome to the podcast. This one is a message needed for right now. However, it’s needed all the time. And this is a thread that we’re going to run through proving that money is truly everywhere. Kim, when I told you about this topic, like you lit up, it was awesome. Well, it is an interesting distinction too. It says money is everywhere. So we’ll talk about exactly what money means because I got some clarity recently. Again, I’ve had this clarity in the past, but it is the difference between money and wealth and it’s because I heard somebody say I’m broke and I just want to scream when I hear that because there might be some occasional circumstances

[00:51] when it would be an appropriate conversation or appropriate word choice. But as a general rule, no, you have wealth and you have your health. That might be your wealth. You have the ability to think that might be your wealth. And that is going to weave us into this money is everywhere. But tell us what Twitter said about it. Because I know all things on Twitter are always correct. Well, of course it’s on the internet. It’s real. So here’s what’s really cool. This one’s Jacob Greenfield. He says, there’s a guy who calls himself the Lego man who charges $50 a month for his paid community dedicated to seeing Lego as an alternative asset class. He has 200 paying members, 10,000 a month in monthly revenue.

[01:37] I’m like, wow. Yeah. Okay. Next, someone has made more than 500,000 from a single PowerPoint template that they sell on graphicriver.net. One PowerPoint. Okay. Here’s another one. This one is like crazy. A professional baby namer. There’s an article of a lady here. She gets paid $10,000 per baby name. Okay, if you can’t see the video, my mouth is on the floor. Wait, say it again. Yes. She goes, I’m a professional baby namer. Rich parents pay me $10,000 to do it for them. I don’t even have a comment. Yes. It’s crazy. All right. Here, are you, are you ready? You want to hear a couple more of these? Yes, please. Okay. So I mean, like I’m hearing this and I’m saying like, what, what’s going on?

[02:39] Okay. Opportunity is literally everywhere in Uluwatu. It’s a legendary surf area. A crew of locals set up a photo business. One guy shoots while two others catch surfers on their way out. They don’t ask for permission, but the pics are so good that buying is a no-brainer. They sell dozens of pictures a day. Telephoto lens, take pictures, sell. We see it everywhere. So my question for you is where have you seen money and opportunities that you wouldn’t think? Wow. I wouldn’t think that’s the hard part of this question, right? Which is why it’s so fun to hear the ideas that you’ve brought up. However, I absolutely have had some clients where a job was lost or a business failed or whatever, and they really, really needed some income

[03:32] quickly and a, and a solid, you know, sometimes you can just get the base bills paid, then you can figure out your next step. So there is some favorite things that I like to recommend. And one of them is Udacity, U-D-A-C-I-T-Y. You pop on, take a course, they get you certified in a particular area. And then super large companies hire these remote workers that have that course because there’s already work to be done in the space where the course taught. So I think that’s a great example. And furthermore, you can look through all of the things at Udacity and see what interests you. So back to my comment of find work you love and do it forever. There is for anybody that’s willing to provide value, there is money to be made.

[04:22] And so you are best providing value in the areas that you love. And so think about this, you know, somebody created a PowerPoint, they probably love to do that, or it wouldn’t be good, and consequently they were able to sell that PowerPoint. So think about, you know, almost turn the equation rather than thinking about, well, what can I do to make money, switch it around and say, well, what can I do to provide value? And then that will create a doorway with which you can be paid. And in the entrepreneurial environment, we all know that we do work first and get paid second, especially when we’re new into the business. And it is very, very interesting to watch a business, we’re going through this right now, elevate from being paid for the product to

[05:15] being paid more for a service, or maybe it’s the other way around. You know, maybe there’s a service business out there and they’re, they’re trying to get paid also for the product. So those are just ways that you can add value. You know, if we want to circle back to the larger landscape, if people are not wanting to think entrepreneurial, and frankly, I think everybody should think entrepreneurially, even if they’re in a W-2 job, then it might be a little harder, but not in today’s world. You know, we have these things called computers and they hook to this thing called the internet. And on the internet, there are ways to create value so that you can get paid. Absolutely, a hundred percent.

[05:58] I’ve been traveling lately and I’ve seen some opportunities that people are taking and it’s mind-blowing. So obviously we, we see the normal stuff like Ubers or Airbnb’s and that’s great. And then we’re seeing additional things. So people that have box trucks and they’ll work for a company after hours, now they’ll go do other shipments, like, all right, that’s interesting. I came across one yesterday during the, the 2020 snafu, whatever we want to call that. What happened was a guy started making bread in his house and he made a loaf of bread. It was good. He thought, okay, well, this, this is something I enjoy. So he made another loaf of bread, put it on his social media, a friend bought it.

[06:45] Come a couple of weeks later, he’s now got a huge demand for bread. Realizes he can only make so much bread. So now he provides a bread on a wooden board with some little side elements. That blows up. Then he decides, well, hey, instead of making all the bread, why don’t I just make the dough and sell the pizza sauce? And then people can make their own pizzas. Ooh, that blows up. And so what the piece that came to me was you might not know where you want to end up, but you’re not going to get there unless you start to take the steps. Absolutely. And baby steps are so much easier to take than trying to figure out what the end really looks like. And I get it. Like I love Stephen Covey’s seven habits.

[07:28] One of them is to begin with the end in mind. Okay. That’s a good thought. And sometimes that’s just too hard to do or too scary to do, or you just have no idea how to do it. But taking little baby steps like that, that’s basically market research, and then you’re getting paid for it along the way. Super cool story. Absolutely. You know, to tie in life insurance, which I, I’ve been thinking about this of how we can tie it in. It, it can really very much be, we start with the habit of saving. And we’re not using the word investing. We start with the habit of saving. And then what happens is year one, year two, after having that habit, maybe working on an idea, you have this ability to tap in

[08:13] to a line of money that you can use for that. But if you don’t start now, you can never tap into that. Right. Yep. It’s the opportunity fund without a doubt, and it enables you to be creative, which is really what it takes to be able to put forth something that is of value that other people will pay for, but I know for myself, something that I’m working on right now is that there’s not a shortage of money there might appear to be. And it’s really worked back to what appears to be a shortage of ideas. And there is no shortage of ideas. And so when you can calm yourself down enough to have some gratitude or prayer first, and then the ideas will come when you are in a space where you can accept them, listen to them, make decisions on them, et cetera.

[09:15] And that’s not an easy thing to do in today’s world, but it works. And we’ve seen it over and over and over. And truly these people whose stories you have shared, we know that they created value first and then got paid for it. So really cool set of stories. It just can help us enable that good thinking to occur. And that’s where money comes from is good thinking, prosperous thinking, right? Not scarcity thinking, because holy cow, if we’re scared and in fear mode, it’s going to be very difficult. Can that, that snippet right there, like, can we just take that, hit repeat and just listen over and over? Like, no, that was really good. And it’s needed for right now. Because we’re at a time where there’s a lot of unpredictable

[10:09] and unprecedented things happening. And for us to follow that wise advice is absolutely needed. Kim, that was great advice. There’s one invitation that I would extend to the audience, which is we’re all looking to improve ourselves and make our situations better. And so for you as a listener, we would love to hear what you’re doing right now as a prosperity thinker to make life better. So send an email to hello at prosperitythinkers.com. You can put the title of the email as podcast and share your thoughts. It could be what you’re doing, what your family’s doing, what your friends are doing.
