[00:00] Hello, Prosperity Thinkers. Welcome to the podcast. Today, we’re going to be talking all about money. And this is from the Tuttle Twins, who we absolutely love. Want to give some backstory on who they are, Kim? Yes. So I don’t remember how I ran across the author of the book, the Tuttle Twins. His name is Connor Boyack, B-O-Y-A-C-K, and he has a whole series of books that are appropriate for, I would say, even like a five-year-old up to maybe a 12 or 13-year-old. And then he has a smaller series that is for the teenager set. And yet, I will tell you, I learned some things in reading the books, and I’ve always enjoyed Connor’s work. I’ve heard that they have a little cartoon out also, which is kind of fun. And just

[00:58] recently in the mail, and I only pick up my mail like once a week because like who snail mails things these days. Nevertheless, Prosperity Thinkers sent out a snail mail. So if you haven’t seen it, make sure you check and look for our Prosperity Thinkers postcard that got sent out. But this came in the snail mail, a little magazine called All About Money. And in the show notes, we will give you a picture of the front and the back of it because I believe that you can sign up for a magazine subscription at Tuttle Twins. So that’s T-U-T-T-L-E, Twins, T-W-I-N-S dot com forward slash magazine. And this one is actually special edition issue zero. Isn’t that fun? That’s awesome. I love it. So inside is at the beginning and add for the Foundation for Economic

[01:57] Education, which is a nonprofit that is super cool. And Todd and I have had the privilege of listening to Larry Reed, who’s their current, I don’t know, his proper title CEO or something, just a wonderful thinker and a fabulous orator. Just listening to his speeches is delightful. And then there’s a little bit of information about the Tuttle Twins, various books, and then a fabulous little and like I said, totally appropriate for kids of all ages. This little magazine, I would say five to like a hundred and five. Right. It’s just really well done and and cute, but not in a overly cute way, but with colors and pictures enough to keep interest. History of money like back to the 10,000 BC era. Super helpful.

[02:55] And then some information about the Bitcoin and blockchain arena. So Spencer, you’ve got a lot of knowledge about the cryptocurrency world. Why do you think they included that in the little magazine? It’s definitely the future, how I see it, and it’s very cutting edge. But there are so many pieces behind this blockchain and cryptocurrency world that fit in with these rising generations. So I can touch on a few of those, actually, that’d be really helpful. So they have video games that most kids, depending on how old you are, if you are in your 40s or 50s, you may have grown up with an Atari or a Nintendo. And now kids are playing all kinds of video games, either on their devices or on a computer.

[03:50] Well, they’ve now taken that world and they’ve added in the blockchain. And so you can now play video games and earn different cryptocurrencies. It’s kind of shocking. And it is, it is a absolute economy that operates in the video game world with these cryptos and the amazing things around NFTs or non fungible tokens, which you mentioned a couple episodes ago, and what they’re doing, just super cool what’s going on there and able to be started at very small amounts. And not that we’re recommending any particular investment on our discussion here, but I really encourage people to learn. And in this little total twins magazine, there’s a great super short article and then a QR code to see a video explaining more about Bitcoin.

[04:42] So way to go, Connor, good stuff. There’s a little crossword puzzle in here about money. There’s some information about federal spending and political pork. Very well done with a little piggy and some examples about what’s going on right now. Again, another QR code for podcasts around the way the world works, according to some of the economic education that Connor Boyack and his crowd promote. And then I love the ending. They have a young entrepreneur shout out. So I don’t know how often they’re intending on publishing this, but there are two brothers that have two brothers, rubs and spices. And these kids look about, I don’t know, maybe 12 and 14 or something. And they’re selling spices like, you know, for meat.

[05:43] In fact, their website is two bros, rubs and spices.com very fun. You know, you know what’s so cool about that? I’m going to touch on that story for just a second and explain how the world has changed because I remember in my early 20s, I owned a shaved ice company. You’ve probably seen those in grocery store parking lots. So I had that company for three years and it was awesome. I loved it, sold it. It was a very complicated business to do back then. Most business was 20-ish years ago. If you look at the rub business, there’s actually a lot of things that have to take place, meaning you have to have the FDA go through and it has to be prepared in a facility, you know, if you want to do it legit.

[06:30] And there are a lot of different pieces that are required just to stay up with the legal complexities. Where we live now, thinking in terms of blockchain and just innovation, you can rent a ghost kitchen for half a day that you get your certification and you can have them do packaging for you. And you can go through everything where you could make that rub and half a day be completely compliant. You can have a website built in a few hours and you can take credit card payments on your phone. How amazing is that world that we have right now? It is so cool. One of the sites that I know we’ve shared in a previous episode is myfirstsale.com, S-A-L-E. And that’s a fabulous example of a whole bunch of entrepreneurial ideas

[07:23] that kids are putting forth that are working businesses, even if at a very elementary level. And it’s just wonderful thought process for kids of all ages to have. And I don’t have the statistics at my fingertips, but I think I’ve heard something about the highest number of business startups right now is actually age like 50 or 60 and older. Because you have so many people that are waking up to the fact that they really are going to live another 30 or 40 years and they might have thought they’d saved enough money for retirement of maybe 10 or 20 years, but here they’ve now doubled and tripled that time frame. And so they’ve realized that they need to keep earning money. Plus they want to, they’re bored.

[08:16] And as human beings, we’re not put on earth to have a life of golf, fishing, and travel. I mean, yes, go do all those things. We just came back from a wonderful time in the mountains and just spending time in nature and doing nothing for a whole week. Fabulous rest and just really good, I guess, mental rejuvenation, if you will. And now it’s time to go back to work. And work needs to be something that we love and enjoy doing. And when you can create your own business, I think it’s a lot easier. Absolutely, it is. You know, as we kind of tie up this episode and we’d spoken about the Tuttle Twins magazine and all of the things in it. And we’ve spoken about, you know, fee.org and the different businesses that happened in Bitcoin

[09:09] and all of those pieces. What it really boils down to, the cream of this. And what’s so beautiful is that you can take something that’s complex and explain it in the most simplistic terms. And when an author does that, it means that they master it. And when we can take simple concepts and chew on those, then we can then share it with others. And then they will grow in complexity because we do understand it. That’s why it’s so valuable. And hopefully this podcast is doing the same where we’re taking some concepts that are very, you know, difficult to understand, making it simple and then allowing a person to think about it throughout the week. Well, and the act of sharing is the most gracious gift

[10:02] that you can give yourself and the person that you’re sharing with because by giving you’re starting the act of moving forward. And then also the person that’s receiving gets a chance to benefit from that. And so I am so grateful for all of our listeners and those that share it, however you do that technologically or verbally, super, super valuable. And it’s really what we want to be happening all the time. We want to be sharing all the things. Adam Grant just put out an article about the best gift that you can give somebody is to connect them to somebody else that is helpful. And so the best gift to support that, of course, is a piece of education, a thought that will get somebody else thinking, et cetera.

[10:56] And I think we forget how valuable contacts are person to person to person. So for those of you that have shared the podcast, thank you so much. For those of you that listened to the podcast, thank you so much. And also for those of you that have thought, hmm, I wonder if something else is going on here. Engaging in a discussion with somebody else will help you learn a little bit more about all of the good things that we talk about. Yes, absolutely. For your listeners, to make it simple, to share this podcast opens the door for you to have those conversations on your phone. If you’re listening on phone, you can click the share button. And depending on the podcast player you have, it’s built in so you can do it on an Apple,

[11:42] Spotify, Amazon, Google, or whatever your podcast player is. And we always welcome discussion here, so you can send an email to helloatprosperitythinkers.com. And we hope that as you are traveling in the car, maybe you’re with your kids or you’re with your other loved ones, maybe take a minute and listen to this or talk about these conversations.
